Marianna Haiss Oyler and daughter. |
Thanks to some new finds by cousin Susan on my Dad's Oyler side of the tree, we now have a photo of my 3rd-great-grandmother Marianna Haiss, posing with her daughter Mary Frances Oyler. It has been quite a while since I last looked at Marianna's Haiss family (also spelled Hais or Haise in various records). The new FamilySearch Labs' AI-search tool has shed light on new-to-me records for her family in Kenton County, Kentucky, which I'll be writing about this month.
Back in 2012, I shared a photo of Marianna's marriage record to Samuel Oyler, from nearby Dearborn County, Indiana in 1850. Looking at the map, Lawrenceburg is just over the border and down the Ohio River from Covington, Kentucky where the Hais family was living, and not far from Samuel's family outside Cincinnati.

I still have not been able to locate Marianna in the 1850 US Census, but she should be there, either in Hamilton County, Ohio or in Kenton County, Kentucky.
The Findagrave entry featuring the photo of Marianna also included photos for several of her children.
