PowWowDC Photos

The Washington DC street art scene hit the big time in May with the first Pow Wow DC art festival. Over lunch I hopped on the Red Line to NoMa/Galludet Metro for a quick walk around the murals. Pow! Wow! began as a week long street art event in Hawaii and has grown into a global network of events. The DC version included a mix of 20 international and local artists.

It is great to see this caliber of street art appear in DC and I hope this is a sign of future works in the area. Thanks go to the NoMa BID and area developers for bringing in these artists to DC. Congrats also to DC artist Kelly Towles for organizing the event with the folks from Pow! Wow!
