William Waddell secured his place in motion picture history by displaying the first 3D film in 1915 for an audience with red-green glasses. He has an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records for showing a 3D film at the Astor Theatre in New York on 10 June 1915.
William and Luella appear in the 1915 New Jersey Census in Keansburg. His occupation is listed as inventor.
