I shared the photo above on Instagram, cropped & added a filter. This is from a set of historic communications & translation equipment at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. I posted the
original set of photos on the blog back in May 2014. I thought it was worth revisiting as I am once again looking over old photos now that travels are suspended for the near term.
There are some cool details in this shot, I like how plugs show the feeds for different languages, and the two rectangles in the middle show the BBC and French radio, with various amplifier knobs at the bottom. The equipment would have enabled the broadcast of UN sessions in multiple languages.
