Settling back into the right time zone

I'm now back in Northern Virginia after hitting four continents in two days as part of my return flights from South Africa. My return trip took me from Johannesburg to Dubai to Milan to New York and then back. Quite a long way. I did manage 24 hours in Milan, so there were some positives to the roundabout path I took.

I will have a separate post of photos from Milan. 24 hours is not enough time there. I was blessed with beautiful weather and sunny skies for my short stop in the city. It certainly lives up to its billing as one of the most fashionable cities in the world. The locals look like they are straight out of a fashion magazine. There was great pizza and gelato too.

While I have been on the road there's another problem I have noticed with the blog. I've been flooded with blog spam in the comments. It has become such a problem that I had to turn off the comments. That is unfortunate because I have had some distant cousins and regular readers send me good suggestions over the years, but just deleting the comments wasn't working. Within minutes of deleting the comment on one post another would show up on older parts of the blog. While I reported this problem through Blogger, it didn't stop until I shut off how comments were allowed here. So for now there may be some additional hoops to jump through before valid comments can reach the blog.
