While taking another look through Newspapers.com, I found some new-to-me entries on my 4th-great-grandfather John Muck. It looks like he had some winning entries in the Gibson County Fair back in 1873. He won for Irish potatoes and dried beans, as well as for blackberry cordial, blackberry wine, grape wine and currant wine.
This was an improvement over his 2nd-place finish for rhubarb wine in the 1870 Gibson County Fair.
It looks like I may not have covered John's story on the blog, although I have mentioned his wife, my 4th-great-grandmother, Ursula Fellme Muck. She made a quilt that is in the collection of the Indiana State Museum.
