Passing this along from my wife - on Friday 17 February, Deborra Richardson, the Chief Archivist at the National Museum of American History in Washington DC, will be doing a book signing on her children's book "Treasures at the Museum". The signing runs from 3:15-5:15pm. Admission is free, the book is $6.
Even if you're not in the DC area for the book signing, this does look like a fun and educational book for kids to learn about preserving history.
The National Museum of American History is located at the corner of 14th Street, NW and Constitution, on the National Mall.
And a separate item, if you're in the DC area next Monday 20 February, Old Town Alexandria is hosting its George Washington Birthday Parade. If the weather cooperates, this should be fun event to see.
