On the water

Keith D. Jones, undated photo. Likely on White River, Indiana.
Here are a few more photos of my Gumpy, Keith D. Jones, rowing on a small boat. This is likely from the White River near Broad Ripple in Indianapolis, Indiana. I do not have a date on the photos, but these are likely from the early 1940s.

Murals in Los Angeles

Photo by Patrick Jones. Mural by Christina Angelina.

The mural above and the next photo below is part of a wall by Christina Angelina located in Santa Monica, off Pico. I found another of her murals in Mar Vista during a street art walk on Monday. The remaining set are various murals in Mar Vista, along Venice Boulevard in LA.

Downtown LA Street Art Walk Part 2

Photo by Patrick Jones. Mural by Christina Angelina and Fin Dac.
The mural above is a 2014 collaboration by Christina Angelina and Fin Dac in Downtown LA called "Upon Reflection." This is located at 117 Winston Street. There is so much amazing detail in these walls. Unfortunately I did not catch the light at the right time to see the murals without shadows. For better pictures, I'd recommend the making of the murals at ColorsinLA's post (*as of 2026, the links no longer work). See also Part 1 of my Downtown LA Street Art Walk.

I went on another street art walk yesterday through Mar Vista, Venice and Santa Monica. This yielded a large set of cool walls, which I will have in a separate post.

Downtown LA Street Art Walk Part 1

Photo by Patrick Jones. Mural by Faith 47. Los Angeles, 24 Sep 2016.
Yesterday morning we went on a street art walk around Downtown Los Angeles. I had three murals mapped out to see, two by South African artist Faith 47 and one a collaboration by Christina Angelina and Fin DAC. Along the way we spotted a few bonus murals, which I will share in this set of photos.

The mural above is titled "The Preciousness of the Hunt," and it located on the corner of 12th and 1130 S. Flower Street, near the LA Live complex. I have captured some of her murals in the past, a lion in Shoreditch, London and several at Wynwood Walls in Miami. A bonus mural was the neighboring large wall by DourOne.

Two bonus murals by German artist Case Maclaim were located near the murals by Faith 47 and DourOne.

The third hand mural spotted on this walk was painted on the side of the Bristol Hotel by JR back in 2011. My last one in this set is a new mural by Faith 47, titled "Who will guard the guards themselves?" This is located near 453 S. Spring Street.
