According to our local weather, today marks the end of a 709-day streak with our first measurable snow. It's also Maya's first experience with the cold white stuff, as she's a rescue from Lafayette, Louisiana. Maya seems to be adjusting just fine.
We recently received Maya's dog DNA results back from Embark. To everyone's surprise, she's 100% black lab.

At last we're at the end of the past four years, by Noon today we'll have a new President and administration. Out with the old, in with the new. We're still in the pandemic and have a long way to go before we can clean up from the wreckage. Today marks a start to moving forward.

Posting has been slow as we've turned the page on a new year. This is the first time in 15 years that I will not have spent any of January in Los Angeles. The continuing pandemic has postponed my first trip of the year. This time last year I was in LA, preparing to deliver a training in our Singapore office. There will be future opportunities to return to both places, but for now I'm missing this time in LA very much. Vaccines and an end to the pandemic can't come soon enough.
