Thanks to
Pacers Running in Alexandria for the finish line photo. On Sunday 26 April, I ran the George Washington Parkway 10 mile race (after arriving late the night before from Seattle). The race began at historic Mount Vernon, along with GW Parkway north to Old Town Alexandria. The last time I ran a 10 mile race I was 16 years old, on my high school cross country team in Indiana, and that was quite a long time ago.

While I was pleased just to finish, I was more impressed that I negative split the 5 miles (running the second 5 miles faster than the first). This was a fun race, with well over 7000 others of all ages entered. I am not in any hurry to step up the mileage and run a half-marathon.
