It's possible she was a daughter of my 5th-great-grandparents Joseph Thornhill and Sarah Sally Westall/Restall Thornhill. I've looked in some other places & no one seems to have parents for Amanda Thornhill. Panther Springs was where my Jones & Thornhills lived.

My email is: p l j o n e s 9 6 at g m a i l . c o m (remove spaces). A f...I do not know which Thornhills I am tracking. A friend asked me to find the parents of Amanda Thornhill who married Rowland Larimore in Grainger County in 1843. From the 1850 census on, they are found in Witt's Foundry. Amanda is buried at Panther Springs. The Thorn Hill area of Grainger County is about 12 miles due north of Panther Springs near the Jefferson/ Hamblen County border, and on the other side of Clinch Mountain -- if I remember correctly. I do not know if the Thorn Hill community was actually named for Thornhills -- will have to look into that. One of their daughters married John Kimbrough, one a McKinney, and one a Whaley. The Whaley has a very interesting story related. So, at this point, I'm really still looking for clues and have scanned from the beginning of your blog looking for familiar names. I have gotten as far as the Muscle Shoals Richard Mitchell Edwards story. He is the brother of my great-great-great grandfather, Isaac Howlett Edwards. I have some information on them not yet posted to the blog, but on my Ancestry tree. I'm also in contact with some other distant cousins tracking the Thornhill line. The Jefferson County line moved from Culpeper, Virginia. I've been able to track them there & have more research to do on this line. I have been distracted by the current pursuit on the Lambert & Lee lines.

Thanks for the catch, I'll look back at documents to see if it is an error in my transcription or on the original deed.

PatrickPatrick Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00017739832967378472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534357130899503662.post-49862830839218859192013-10-11T08:10:15.523-04:002013-10-11T08:10:15.523-04:00I keep running into your blog looking for Thornhil...I keep running into your blog looking for Thornhills in Jefferson County, TN and saw Warren County, OH today. I'll trade you Warren County stuff for Thornhill stuff because I live in Warren County and don't want to work real hard on the Thornhills.
I believe on one of those Jones deeds you probably want to change your "Grayson County" to "Grainger County." And you may want to be my new best friend because I grew up in Jefferson County. My specialty is actually Sevier County, but I do have a life-long friend at the Jefferson County Archives -- and I'm familiar with the entire area.
Sorry for the lengthy comment. If there is a way to email, I wasn't clever enough to figure it out. (Okay, scratch that best friend part.)Mary Lizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12830244308423934940noreply@blogger.com
