The family came to Roane County, Tennessee sometime between 1811-1822. If you have access to Ancestry, just do a search on Richard Mitchell Edwards born 1822 in Roane County, TN & you'll find that tree. I am not related to him, but am thankful he captured his experiences with the 5th Infrantry and published them for future reading.Patrick Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00017739832967378472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534357130899503662.post-22478539435543455022014-01-21T21:12:41.916-05:002014-01-21T21:12:41.916-05:00Patrick,

That along with his muster record give the earliest date I have been able to place my great great grandfather. Nobody has ever been able to discover his parents so I am looking for all resources to produce as exact a timeline as possible of his movements. I'm so happy I came across your blog! He served in the Civil War also for the confederacy for Missouri and one if his fellow soldiers kept a daily diary that survived and was put into book form. Can't wait for that to get here next week!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10997258316835356683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534357130899503662.post-785284638637168752013-02-17T20:54:17.077-05:002013-02-17T20:54:17.077-05:00Hi Amber - I found my copy on AbeBooks.com ($5 + $...Hi Amber - I found my copy on AbeBooks.com ($5 + $3 shipping). It's a fascinating account of their journey. If your ancestor was in Company D, it's also possible that a Mexican War pension application was submitted. This would be on file at the National Archives in DC.Patrick Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00017739832967378472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6534357130899503662.post-8157619673758739632013-02-17T18:31:03.648-05:002013-02-17T18:31:03.648-05:00Hi.
