A Declaration then and now

Like others have written this week, Ancestry recently released an advertisement featuring descendants of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. It is a thought-provoking ad, showing how the descendants of these men have come to reflect the multicultural and diverse country we live in today. As part of the ad, Ancestry worked with artists to recreate the famous painting Signing of the Declaration of Independence by John Trumbull with the descendants of the signers. A mural of the new painting is located in Brooklyn, New York.

 Enjoy the Fourth, think about how far we have come, and how far we still need to go.
